About Us

Our Teaching Philosophy

Connection, Creativity, Community

Connection

The core of education is to teach the student, not the subject. Every student is uniquely different. We aim to strike a balance between genuinely connecting with students and knowing what motivates them, while being firm when we we need to.

Creativitvity & Innovation

Creating and Inspiring, giving students a wide exposure - Not Just Exam Drills. Exams are milestones, not the destination. We hope to elevate the teaching scene in Singapore to that of the US, UK, Japan to be more holistic. Our focus is on having a large toolset of creative methods and strategies, not just fancy tools and marketing gimmicks. We draw global inspiration from respected pedagogues such as Amy Elmore, Piano Safari, and Katherine Fisher - adapting structured, research-backed approaches to build technique and musicality.

Community-Driven Growth

Teaching should not be a solo struggle in Singapore. We believe teachers grow faster in a strong community. Our educators learn, refine, and upgrade together to build a fulfilling career.

For Teachers, by Teachers.

Our Story
Our journey began with a simple yet powerful vision - to redefine the way private music education is taught in Singapore.

The Piano Tribe was founded out of frustration with an industry that lacked the resources for piano teachers to upgrade their skillsets to evolve their teaching practices. When faced with problems in teaching that make us feel stuck, or stagant, this can become a lonely career.

So we built what we wished existed: an ecosystem where teachers are supported, and students recieve enjoyable learning experiences.

If you believe music education can be done better - explore our programmes and see how you can be part of The Piano Tribe.

The Problems We Solve

For Teachers:

❌ Low-balling of fees due to lack of differentiation

❌ Limited access to  teaching resources

❌ Unclear lesson frameworks – “teaching as you go” without a system

❌ Music graduates lacking business knowledge (lead generation, automation, systems)

❌ Non-music graduates struggling with teaching different genres, higher grades, accompaniment skills, or different syllabus such as Rockschool.

❌ Feeling isolated with no professional support network

For Parents & Students:

😔 Uncertainty about teaching quality

😔Lessons focused only on exams without deeper musical development

😔Students losing motivation due to uninspiring or inconsistent teaching

😔 Lack of visibility in student’s progression
