About Grace & Her Teaching Philosophy

Growing up with little resources, Grace asked to learn the piano since young but has never had the luck to meet quality and dedicated teachers to support her learning. 

The turning point came when she met a really good teacher for her diploma, whom studied in Royal Northern College of Music and everything changed. It dawned on her that the way private music lessons are taught in Singapore can get repetitive and uninspiring, and that the difference of having a good teacher really changes the whole ball game. This is when she started to take an interest from global musical inspirations from the US and UK. 

The Piano Tribe was founded by Grace out of frustration with an industry that lacked the resources for piano teachers to upgrade their skillsets to evolve their teaching practices. When faced with problems in teaching that make us feel stuck, or stagant, this can become a lonely career.

So she built what she wished existed: an ecosystem where teachers are supported, and students recieve enjoyable learning experiences without just going through the grind of piano exams.
